According to CareerBliss (a US based online career site) 43% of US retailers are willing to hire seasonal workers on the next year.
CareerBliss analyzed thousands of reviews from retail employees who evaluated nine factors that affect work happiness on a five-point scale:
1. Work-life balance
2. Senior management
3. Compensation
4. Benefits
5. Job security
6. Whether the employee would recommend their employer
7. The work the employee does
8. Company culture
9. Employee’s work environment
Then, they calculate the “Bliss Score” for each respondent, which it is an average rating of overall happiness. The following is the result of that questionnaire, listing the best 10 retail companies to work for:
1. Ross Dress For Less – Bliss Score 3’64
2. Costco – Bliss Score 3’27
3. Ikea – Bliss Score 3’26
4. Neiman Marcus – Bliss Score 3’23
5. Apple – Bliss Score 3’23

Nonetheless, the greatest advantage in today’s economy is a happy and engaged workforce. How much would a 10% reduction in staff turnover save your business?
